Entity check
Reads Google’s Knowledge Graph, Wikidata, Wikipedia and Google Books in one pass, then tells you which of three routes you are on. Most lookup tools stop at “here is your identifier”. The identifier on its own has never told anybody what to do next.
Paste a name, a brand, or an entity identifier such as /g/11n88rs3s0. Results are shareable: the address bar updates as you search.
What the four sources are for
Namesake collision
How many separate records answer to your name, and how much of the name the strongest one is holding. This is the single most common reason a panel refuses to appear for somebody who has done everything else right.
What the four sources actually tell you
Google’s own index of things it believes exist. A record here means Google has a file on the name. An empty result does not prove you have no panel, because this API is partial and lags what the search page shows. It does prove there is nothing machine-readable to point at.
A structured, open database anyone can edit within its rules. A clean, sourced Wikidata item is a strong corroborating signal. An unsourced one that gets deleted is worse than never having had one, which is why we gate this hard.
The most powerful single signal and the hardest to earn honestly. Notability is decided by editors reading independent coverage, not by you or by us. If you are here because someone offered to write you a Wikipedia page, that is the offer to walk away from.
Published works with an ISBN attached to your exact name. Authorship is the most durable accelerator there is, and it is why two people on our record page carry the descriptor “Author”. If this check reports “no answer” it means the lookup failed, never that you have no books.
Read the number honestly
Match strength is resultScore from Google’s Knowledge Graph Search API. Google defines it as how well an entity matched the query you just typed. It is query-relative.
It is not a confidence rating. It is not a trust score. Google publishes no threshold for it and no number on it guarantees a panel. Anyone showing you this figure as “your Google confidence score” is dressing a diagnostic up as a grade, and you should discount everything else they tell you accordingly.
What it is good for: comparing records against each other for the same query. If your record scores 24 and a stranger with your name scores 400, that gap is the real obstacle, and it is a much more useful thing to know than any single number in isolation.
A dominant record already answers to the name. The job is ownership and correction, measured in weeks.
A record exists and is not dominant. The gap is independent witnesses, and it usually takes three to six months.
Nothing to point at. Ninety days minimum before anything moves at all, and six to twelve months to a panel on a strong entity.
Honest limits of this tool
The API and the search results page are different systems on different refresh cycles. Four of the eight records on our own proof page return a modest number here and still display a panel on Google. Always check both.
Panels vary by country, language and searcher. This runs one language at a time and one query at a time. Use the language selector, and check your own name from your own phone as well.
No record found means no record found in this index today. It does not mean you cannot get one, and it does not mean you do not already have one showing on the search page.
